Managing Director
Denise Sanders, CPA, CISA
Denise began her career with Price Waterhouse in 1994, spending a total of nine years with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). She started as a financial auditor, and spent most of her career at PwC providing consulting or internal audit services to Fortune 500 companies. She developed several of the national practice tools and training for the PwC SAP security and controls practice. She moved into the Data Management practice, becoming the regional data quality lead. She left PwC as a senior manager.
In 2003, she joined Hewlett Packard (HP) as a financial systems senior project manager responsible for the standardization of financial data for the global company as part of the consolidation of systems following the merger of HP and Compaq. She managed the design and development of a system to manage the workflow and synchronization of reporting structure data across all financial and reporting systems.
In 2005, she joined the Houston based CPA firm Calvetti, Ferguson & Wagner, P.C. (CF&W), where she spent four years. At CF&W, she managed the development of CF&W's Sarbanes-Oxley methodology and the implementation of SOX Symphony, CF&W’s Sarbanes-Oxley hosted implementation software based on DoubleCheck Software's GRC&T. She managed SOX implementations for several middle market international companies. She managed various projects with cross-disciplined teams involving accounting and reporting and technology for middle-market companies, many of which were international public companies. She left CF&W as a director in the Advisory practice.
In 2009, Denise formed Sanders Consulting, LLC to create a services firm with strong ethical values and a focus on advisory services with an accounting, business and technology experience.
Denise is a Certified Public Accountant (licensed in Texas and Missouri) and Certified Information Systems Auditor.
Denise is actively involved in professional organizations including serving as Vice President on the Board of the Women's Finance Exchange of Houston and member of the Society for Information Management. She is member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, and Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).
Denise spends most of her time outside work with her husband Matt, daughter Norah, and Great Dane Hailey. She enjoys motorcycling, bicycling, and reading.
